*UB40’s hit was a cover from Neil Diamond’s original 1967 ballad.

*George Thoroughgood And The Destroyers hit is an ingenious medley of two songs. The first is One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer by Amos Milburn from 1953. The other is House Rent Boogie by John Lee Hooker from 1950. Most interestingly, Hooker also covered the Milburn classic in 1966.
